A working collaboration between the Host Organizing Committee, Rotary Senior leaders, and Rotary International staff, the 2016 Economic Development Conference will emphasize economic empowerment by exploring employment and career opportunities in southern Africa. Working closely with the Rotary family, partners, sector experts, and dedicated community members, the conference will strive to identify ways to improve local communities by increasing youth employment opportunities and advancing entrepreneurial initiatives throughout the region. Victor A. Barnes
Director of Programs and Grants, Rotary International

Victor Barnes joined Rotary in September 2013 as the Director of Programs and Grants. In this capacity he oversees the Foundation’s grant –making portfolio as well as Rotary’s youth programs, its Service and Program partnerships, Rotary’s recognition portfolio and relations with Rotarian Action Groups. He brings extensive domestic and international experience in the education and global health arena with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS, public-private partnerships, corporate engagement and federal and non-profit grant-making. victor barnes2

Bonaventure Fandohan
Manager of Economic & Community Development, Rotary International

Bonaventure's work at the Rotary Foundation includes supporting Rotarians and grant staffs in the design and implementation of sustainable Economic and Community Development Global Grant projects.  He also helps identify priority regions to benefit from Economic and Community Development projects, and assists Rotarians channel their activities to address these needs. Another aspect of Bona's assignment is to lead the Economic and Community Development staff team to support professional development within the organization. bonaventure2
